New Blog

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

I have gotten so many questions regarding my hair, make up, wardrobe and how I got back in shape after the baby. Instead of combining all your fashion and style questions with this baby blog I decided to start a separate one, Make Over with McKi. This blog will have video tutorials on hair and make up ideas, outfit of the day and the biggest question I get.. Fitness and health. I will show you workouts that I used to get back in shape after baby number 2 along with meal plans and recipes. I am so, so excited to share it with everyone. So head on over  and follow

Make Over with McKi

Thank you! :)

Halloween Decor

For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday I am going to mix it up a bit.
I know all of my tutorials are for kids and babies but I decided to do a fun Halloween craft today! You can also turn them into any other holiday jars by adding different ribbon and gumballs for whatever season!

Halloween Gumball Jars

What you will need:
3 Candle Sticks, preferably different sized
3 Jars, preferably different sized
3 jar bases
3 handle nobs
Gumballs
Ribbon
Hot Glue
Scissors

First paint everything your desired color. I did mine all black.

Next, take a look over at your child who also wanted to paint so you set up his own little paint station to keep him busy and he is now covered in paint and you have just started.. GRRRRREAT!

Back to the project, start hot gluing the pieces together.

Glue the jar base to the candle stick, so the jar is a little more sturdy when placed on top.

Then add on another jar base to the top, you can also skip this and just paint the lid black.

Add on the nob to the top center of the jar lid.

Decorate your candle sticks with the ribbon.

Place your gumballs inside and you are done! So easy and so cute!

Side note: I did not glue the jars to the candle sticks and it ended up tipping over (from one of my kids trying to get out a gumball.) So I recommend gluing the jar to the candle stick!

Introducing Tutorial Tuesday

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

I have been slacking at tutorials lately so I decided to start
Tutorial Tuesday!
This will keep me in check and make sure I am always keeping up to date on the blog.
The first tutorial I am going to do is a
Baby Pearl Necklace Bodysuit

 What you will need:
Bodysuit or shirt
Fabric, less than 1/4 yard
Fabric paint
Pearls or flower center
Scissors
Paint brush
Pencil
Bowl

Take the bowl and make sure it is the same size as the neck of your shirt. Place the bowl on the neck of the shirt, this will be used as a guide.

Dip the back side of your paint brush in the paint then dot your shirt with the paint around the bowl.

I altered big dots and little dots because I liked that look, but you can do yours all the same sized dots. You can use only one row of dots or add on a few more like I did. Then the shirt is done.

Then cut out 9 even circles. The size of the circle depends on how big you want the flower on the shirt. Keep in mind the flower will be just about the same size as your circles that you cut. One of the circles will be used for the base of the flower.

Take one circle and fold it in half.

And fold it in half again, making a fourth.

Take just the top flap and fold it back in half once more.

Place a little of your hot glue on the point of the folded fabric.

Place the glue on the center of the wrong side of your circle base.

Continue to do so with the next 3 creating a full circle.

Then do that exact same thing with the next for circles on top of the circles you just glued down.

Once finished place your pearls in the center of the flower.

Then glue your flower to a safety pin and pin it to your shirt. That way you can unpin the flower to wash the shirt.

And you are done!

I made two of the flowers and put one on a clip then clipped it to a headband so she could have a matching head piece! :)

Blogging from your iPhone

Sunday, October 7, 2012

So I just figured out how to blog from an iPhone! Isn't technology just something!! Now I can blog even more cause it is so convenient. I downloaded the "Blogpress" app and it is pretty cool so far! You can upload pictures and everything. The only down side is that it does cost $4.99, but I think it is totally worth it!

While I'm here, I will attach a cute picture if my little Laikynn in one of the six new colored rompers from Mommy's Little Sunshine. One of my favorite colors! Right now you can use code word "SAVE55" at check out to get 55% off any rompers, making them only $9.90! Way sweet deal! We are actually clearing out all the rompers right now so if you have been thinking about getting one, now might be your only chance!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

The face behind Mommy's Little Sunshine

Monday, October 1, 2012

 Hello everyone!
Many of you know me personally or even just by way of blog. For those you who do not, this post is for you. (For those of you who do know here are our most recent family pictures.) I would like to introduce you to my family and I. I would also like to give you a little background for Mommy's Little Sunshine.

I have always dreamed of owning a baby and children's boutique, but like many others I had no idea how to start it. I would have never imagined it starting the way it did either. I actually started a family blog, just to blog about our life. When I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter we decided to do a family photo shoot with some chalk boards introducing her arrival. Once I put them on my blog they started to go viral on Pinterest. I was actually very surprised that so many people were not only re-pinning but starting to follow my blog as well. As the fan base grew I decided to create a whole new blog dedicated to just my pregnancy. I thought for a long time about what exactly to call the blog. I then finally decided on Mommy's Little Sunshine because I knew my little one would be nothing but.

My new blog fan base also began to grow and as it grew fate just started to fall into place. And I jumped at the opportunity to start my own online boutique and make some of my dreams come true! Well Mommy's Little Sunshine has already exceed a lot of my dreams! So I just keep setting the bar higher and am thrilled for the further of this company. I honestly couldn't have done it without all of my amazing followers, customers and fans. So a big shout out, thank you goes to each and every one of you!

So let me introduce to my family.
<3

My name is McKinli Hatch. I was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. I wasn't always so much into fashion and "girly" things. As a child, I absolutely loved playing sports and was even on my Junior High basketball, softball and track team. Once I started to make my way into High School I changed directions and was a cheerleader in my High School for 2 years. I also was Miss Northern Utah Teen USA which really sparked my interest into the fashion industry. I loved fashion so much that I started modeling locally and loved every second of it. About 2 years ago I really discovered my true passion for children and baby fashion. I have always said "How do you make cute clothing even cuter? Make it tiny and put it on a little one!"

This handsome guy would be the love of my life, my husband Devan. He should actually get most of the credit for Mommy's Little Sunshine because without his encouragement I could have never done it. He is always pushing me to chase my dreams and make them a reality. He is also the one standing by me even if that means to stay up all hours of the night making hair bows. Needless to say he is my rock.

These little gems are my happy!

This is my little big boy, Titan. He is 3 years old and now in pre-school! He just makes my day, everyday. His little personality is so full of spunk he is granted to make you laugh.

This is my baby girl, Laikynn. She is just about the sweetest 6 month old baby you will ever meet. She is consistently smiling and making everyone around her smile!

Now you know a little more about us and Mommy's Little Sunshine! I can't wait for everything that is in store with Mommy's Little Sunshine and I hope you will join us as the company exceeds my biggest expectations!
